one of the ideas that came to me early on was to make a wall of escort cards...buttons pinned to cards with the guests' names written on them. this idea came from looking at lots of online resources. i collected about 20 different fabrics, many of which were designed by amy butler and heather bailey, and using a borrowed button-maker, i turned them into buttons. i hoped people might wear them at the reception. many did.

my mom made squares from the fabrics for each table. the table squares matched the buttons, guiding guests to their seats. my goal was to get as much color, pattern, and life into the room as possible. it worked out.

i used the leftover fabric scraps everywhere i could. i found these buckets in the dollar bins at target and used a scrap for a bow on one filled with lavender for the flower girl. i stitched a ribbon to a piece of gingham and glued it in the other bucket over some stuffing for the ring bearer. we also used scraps to tie together the favors.
